Juhu in 1988
During his third year of pursuing a B.Sc. degree, despite embarking on a promising career path, he felt a profound yearning for a higher purpose that would eventually shape the course of his life.
In 1990, he made a significant decision by joining the Indian Armed Forces as a Military Officer in the Motorized Infantry Battalion. For six years, he dedicated himself to the service of the nation, but amidst the excitement and challenges of Army life, his heart remained connected to his earlier experiences at the Sri Sri Radha Rasabihari Temple in Juhu.
In 1996, his unwavering devotion led him to formally become a part of ISKCON Juhu. His commitment to the spiritual path and desire to spread the message of love and devotion soon led him to ISKCON Mira Road, where he continued his service with even greater vigor.
A turning point in his spiritual journey came in 1997, on the auspicious day of Nityananda Trayodasi, when he was initiated by HH Gopal Krishna Goswami Maharaja. This marked the beginning of a new phase of intense devotion and selfless service.
His dedication to service manifested in various forms. In 1997, he initiated fund-raising efforts through Life Memberships, conducting small youth programs during the day and congregational gatherings in the evenings. His commitment led to the establishment of BHISMA (mailer fund-raising) in 1999, a project he spearheaded and led as the Head of Department.
